Hans Vandenburg plays some Ex Norwegian on his radio show!

Founding member of Dutch rock’n’roll group Gruppo Sportivo, Hans Vandenburg, plays some Ex Norwegian (alongside Soft Cell, Fink, Chet Baker & Blur) on his (hopefully ironically titled) radio show: Why I Quit Composing broadcasted on 40 UP Radio in the Netherlands.

Ex Norwegian covers their 1982 single “Happily Unemployed” on the 2020 release Spotting Hues. This is a fact that wasn’t unnoticed by the group, who posted about it on social media.

Their cynical brand of pop/rock is a big influence on Roger Houdaille and indeed there may be more parallels to the two bands from different continents and different eras than may be at first obvious.

For more information, visit http://www.grupposportivo.com/ and stream “Happily Unemployed” on Spotify.
