Ex Norwegian’s Concert for Burris – Remastered

On April 3, 2016, Ex Norwegian came together to pay tribute to their late mentor, Clark “Doug” Burris, the founder of Miami Beach Senior High School’s Rock Ensemble, who had passed away earlier that year. Now, remastered footage from the Concert for Burris event has been released, showcasing the band’s almost complete performance with enhanced audio and image quality.

Featuring Roger Houdaille, Michelle Grand, Guiseppe Rodriguez, Lucas Queiroz, and Eric Hernandez on drums, the band performed a unique setlist that included seldom played songs, concert staples, and a powerful rendition of the alt-rocker “Jet Lag.” This heartwarming and memorable Miami Beach appearance was dedicated to their beloved music teacher, who had inspired many of his students to pursue professional musical careers.

Doug Burris, who founded the first official “School of Rock” more than 40 years ago, continued teaching despite being confined to a wheelchair due to multiple sclerosis. His dedication and passion for teaching had a profound impact on his students, many of whom went on to achieve great success in the music industry. Burris’ Rock Ensemble program not only taught thousands of students but also received numerous awards and national recognition.
