Back in action: Live October 6th, 2011

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Sept. 13, 2011) – Blasting back onto the stage after a six month absence, Ex Norwegian is ready to stoke the fires of their thrilling live show with a new line-up. Leading the band is Roger Houdaille on bass and vocals; he will be joined at Green Room on Oct. 6 by Michelle Grand (vocals), Lucas Queiroz (guitar, vocals), Kim Drake(keyboards, vocals) and Alex Ibanez (drums) for what is sure to be an exhilarating experience. Bear in Mind will open.

Ex Norwegian burst onto the indie rock world stage like a storm and has been on the brink of redefining what indie rock means ever since. Their sound was catchy, unpredictable and addictive; and entirely free of pretension or self aggrandizing pathos. Instead, the band delivers irresistible, hook-laden songs one after the other – both musically and lyrically – combined with an electrifying live show that is steadily drawing in audiences and critics alike.

The group launched into worldwide public acclaim in the summer of 2008 delivering a jaw-dropping standing room only performance at New York City’s CMJ festival. Their debut album Standby (Dying Van Gogh Records 2009) gained the band instant national exposure, along with oodles of praise from music critics coast to coast; including cover stories, five star ratings and guest appearances on TV and radio shows. Their follow up, entitled Sketch, will be released on Nov. 15th and accomplishes the impossible: it improves something that sounded incapable of needing improvement. Instantly recognizable and yet full of sonic surprises, the band’s second album is pure and powerful indie pop-rock ear candy that leaves you breathless, scratching your head, and wondering what just happened, as if the band is just getting started and at any minute is bound to blow the roof off.
